  • Abangares (Las Juntas). This town has a gold rush history.  It is situated near the Cloud Forest of Monte Verde. The said ecological reserve is just 30 km. away and is known for its fascinating biodiversity. Clouds engulf the area. Clouds hovering on top of the trees are a fascinating sight to see.
  • Tilarán (Tilarán). This small town is the perfect spot for activities and adventures around Lake Arenal. Lake Arenal is just 4 km. Away from Tilarán. This laid-back town is centered around farming. This peaceful little town is comfortably cool in temperature. November to April are the best months to windsurf in Arenal Lake. This place experiences high winds during these months.
  • Nandayure (Carmona).  It cuts across the Nicoya Peninsula to the Pacific Coast. A section of the Nandayure coastline lies on the Gulf of Nicoya near the mouth of the Tempisque River. 
  • La Cruz (La Cruz). This hilltop village is a remote destination with a peaceful ambiance. Also, a fantastic destination for surfing. 
  • Hojancha (Hojancha). Hojancha means wide leaf. Named after a tree with that characteristic that can be found here. The capital Hojancha was awarded the Eco-blue Flag Award for its notable cleanliness.

Playa Flamingo

Playa Flamingo is one of Costa Rica’s most treasured jewels and is quite famous. The beach has crystal-clear water and heavenly white sand.
