▪ Star Mountain has a total area of 222 acres (90 Ha). 5 large 12.5 acre lots (5 Ha) are configured on the
mountain with ocean-view plateaus cleared and ready for building. These sites are ideal places to
build several houses for a family compound.
▪ Infrastructure: The entire hotel compound is wired for electricity. There are 2 existing telephones
lines, and an internet connection. Water is drawn from springs and wells around the property.
▪ Roads are established throughout the property.
▪ Water Concession: On October 20, 2006, the
Ministerio del Ambiente Y Energia (MINAE) granted a 10-year renewable concession to Star
Mountain. Numerous additional spring and well water sources providing some of the best water
sources year round on the peninsula.
▪ Hiking and riding trails are maintained throughout the property.
▪ Several existing structures on the property comprise 6,000 square feet of construction under
roof. The main house has a 1,000 square foot area with 3 bedrooms. The “casita” is smaller
1 bedroom house. There are also 4 large individual guest rooms each with a bathroom. The
lodge is a communal gathering and dining area with a very large grill. The attached kitchen has
an oversized walk-in refrigerator and a complete set of appliances. There is a separate bathroom
structure to service the lodge area. A large 4 room bodega is composed of a: dry storage room, tool
room, laundry room and extra bedroom and bathroom room for a caretaker. The horse tracks
area was built in 2010 to care for the 11 horses on the property. A 650 square foot yoga platform
has just been completed.

Plateaus
Star Mountain has impressive views of both coastlines from its many plateaus. The mountain rises 300 meters from sea level to unveil five existing plateaus with ample room to develop many more building sites. From the plateaus you will experience the sun rising over the Gulf of Nicoya, warming the green pasturelands of the peninsula, and setting over the Pacific Ocean. Privacy is the most valuable commodity we offer. Each plateau is accessed through either of two roads or has its own driveway leading to a well-hidden Building site.
Other than the howler monkeys, the closest neighbors are a kilometer away, affording shelter from the noises of man.
Natural Resources
Each year enough trees fall on the property to build a couple of small houses. All recent construction at
Star Mountain has taken environmental advantage of naturally fallen trees that would otherwise decay.
There is room to start a teak plantation in one corner for future use.
As water becomes more precious on our planet, rest assured that there will always be an abundant
natural supply under your feet. Should future development include solar, wind or hydroelectric power there will never be any dependence on the outside world once you enter Star Mountain.
Cabling will be irrelevant as power and water will be drawn from within and telephone and internet is available wirelessly. Even food production can be accomplished within the boundaries. It can be a haven unto itself. Development Potential Star Mountain is a universe unto itself with potential bounded only by the imagination of the architect. The current owner has been approached in the past with ideas ranging from: a canopy tour in the treetops, adventure biking trails, a mountain jungle campsite, a Hollywood set, and a reality TV show. Perhaps the highest and best use is as a family retreat whereby family members or friends can build houses within the same compound. The pervasive jungle provides a buffer to the outside world and affords the dweller an opportunity to rejuvenate. There exists untapped potential for manifold additional ocean and jungle view building sites.
